Privacy Policy
Version: 2026-09-30
1. Who is responsible for your information
GreenTide Web Design is responsible for the personal information we decide how and why to use. In data-protection terms, this means we act as the controller for that information.
2. Information we collect
We may collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, website requirements, account details, messages you send us, files and images you upload, domain information and basic technical information such as your device, browser, IP address and how you use our service.
3. Why we use your information
We use personal information only where we have a lawful reason. Depending on what we are doing, this may be:
- Contract — to set up your account, build and host your website, take payments, provide support and make requested changes.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent fraud, maintain business records, improve the service and deal with enquiries or disputes.
- Legal obligation — where we need to keep or use information for tax, accounting or other legal requirements.
- Consent — where the law requires your permission, for example for certain optional cookies or marketing. You can withdraw consent where it applies.
4. Payments
Payments are handled by payment providers such as Stripe and, where offered, PayPal. We do not store your full card details. Those providers process payment information under their own privacy policies.
5. Service providers and sharing
We share information only where needed to run the service or where the law requires us to. This can include providers used for hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, analytics, customer support and payments. Our service may use providers such as Vercel for hosting, Neon for database and authentication services, Resend for email delivery, and Stripe or PayPal for payments.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens and the law requires it, we use providers and transfer safeguards intended to protect the information, such as recognised adequacy arrangements or approved contractual protections.
7. Cookies and technical data
We may use cookies or similar technology where needed to keep you signed in, remember settings, protect the service and understand how it is used. Where the law requires permission for optional cookies, we will ask for it.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected for. Account and service information is normally kept while your service is active. Contract, payment, tax and accounting records may be retained for up to six years where needed for legal, accounting or dispute purposes. Website files may be deleted after your service ends in line with our Terms & Conditions. Some information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer needed.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should also keep your account and password secure.
10. Your data rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to certain uses, ask for information you provided in a portable format, or withdraw consent where we rely on consent. Some rights have legal exceptions.
To exercise a privacy right, email support@greentideweb.co.uk.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our service or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on our website.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@greentideweb.co.uk.
